Originally inaugurated in 1931 as the Teatro Fox Delicias, this iconic Art Deco building has evolved over the decades, transforming from a beloved movie house to a bustling shopping mall, and now into a chic boutique hotel.
A Journey Through Time
Located just north of Plaza Las Delicias, in the vibrant barrio Segundo, the Fox Hotel stands as a testament to Ponce’s rich cultural heritage. Designed by the renowned architect Francisco Porrata-Doria, whose notable works include the Hotel Melia and Banco de Ponce, the building boasts an impressive multi-level front facade that captures the essence of Art Deco elegance.

From Theater to Boutique Hotel
The theater’s origins date back to the late 1920s, when Pedro Juan Serralles envisioned creating Ponce’s first movie theater. In partnership with Twentieth Century Fox, the Teatro Fox Delicias quickly became a cultural landmark, delighting moviegoers for nearly five decades until its closure in 1980. The building then underwent a transformation into the Fox Delicias Mall in 1991, offering 26 commercial spaces and a cafe-theater, before finally being redeveloped into the boutique hotel it is today.
A Pop Art Themed Experience
Reopened on December 4, 2019, by Grupo Misla Villalba, the Fox Hotel now celebrates the vibrant pop art culture of the 50s and 60s. Each of our 30 rooms is thoughtfully designed to immerse you in a world full of color, character, and creativity. Our thematic decor pays homage to the golden age of cinema, making every stay a delightful journey through time.
